Thursday November 15th is Beaujolais Nouveau Day, one of the most important days in France's cultural calendar. The third Thursday in November is the day when bottles of this years Beaujolais Nouveau hit the shelves and people are able to taste and enjoy the years vintage.
This year we will be bringing the celebration to Uxbridge with the 2019 vintage available for you to enjoy on Beaujolais day, paired with a special three course set French menu created by our head chef Peter to complement the wine for just £25 (reservations essential).
Beaujolais takes its name from the historical Province of Beaujolais, the wine producing region to the north of Lyon. The wine is made in the northern part of the Rhône department and southern area of the Saône-et-Loire. So what does it taste like? Beaujolais Nouveau is described as light, fruity, zesty, exuberant, strawberry and tasting of sweets. Last years vintage was described as exceptional and the best since 1964 so fingers crossed this years will be just as good!
If you would like to join us to find out for yourself what this year’s vintage will taste like then click our reservations button at the top of the page and select “Beaujolais Nouveau Dinner” from the list to reserve yourself a table for our special dinner.
